Abstract
Neural networks are proving to be an effective alternative algorithmic tool which can either be modeled in a computer program or hardwired in an aging simulation. The beauty of being able to use very simple functional units in a collective manner makes neural nets a very attractive technology to students as well as those wishing to become aware of the state-of-the-art in computer science. A number of applications of neural networks are described
