Abstract
The application of matching pursuits in video coding has shown many advantages. However, this method has an extremely high computational cost. We construct a new dictionary that has a tree structure to replace the Gabor dictionary and uses a hierarchical method to search for the `best´ atom. Computational cost can be reduced significantly by using these methods
