Abstract
The use of nonthermal plasma discharge has emerged as a technique for the treatment of gaseous effluents containing a variety of hazardous contaminant species. This paper discusses the basic principles of magnetic switching and magnetic pulse compression networks in light of their potential role as high average power pulsed sources for various nonthermal plasma discharge applications. A brief review of magnetic material suitable for magnetic switch applications is also presented
