Abstract
This paper presents a hierarchical driver model, outlines the architecture and designs some control subsystems. The driver model includes four layers: decision-making, task planning, maneuver and action. This paper focuses on the design of the task planning layer. The fuzzy reasoning which is suitable to make use of human knowledge is used for expressing the process of driver´s decision-making when the driver determines implementing a maneuver or not. The driver model has passed the simulation tests
