Abstract
The paper discusses different possible applications of fault location for distribution networks. For fault distance computation various solutions for short circuit faults are first presented. Then the various attempts to solve the earth fault distance estimation in ungrounded and compensated neutral systems are outlined. In the latter part of the paper the fault indicator techniques are reviewed.
