Abstract
Unsmooth motion of pneumatic cylinder at low velocity is called stick-slip. Stick-slip is observed in many applications causing many troubles. The paper studies the stick-slip discriminant of unsymmetrical cylinder driven by meter-out circuit, by analytically using dimensionless parameters according to the model of the system and validating with many experiments. The paper puts forward a simple criterion to distinguish stick-slip, hence practical for predicting and avoiding stick-slip occurrence.
