Model-Based Decision Making Support in Mobile Service

With the popularity of mobile device (such as wireless phones, PDAs, etc), many mobile service applications have been developed. However, most current applications focus on information processing. Mobile applications should be extended to decision support. Because of the limitation of mobile devices, the extension can´t be archived easily. This paper studies model-based decision support through PDA. Agent-based DSS architecture is proposed. Model formulation and model solving are facilitated by agent collaboration. User accesses the system through user agent in PDA. User agent and interactive agent perform problem understanding interactively. Model formulation agent controls the modeling process. The Agent design is also presented in this paper.
