  • Abstract
The eyes of the fly have been extensively studied at both the structural and the cellular level. Up to the present, however, this data has not been utilized to develop a comprehensive model of its eye. With the presentation of a model for the sensory portion of the fly´s eye, this paper describes some initial steps towards the development of a comprehensive model. The effectiveness of the model is addressed through a comparison of its performance with that found in experimental data
