  • Abstract
The management of future telecommunication services offered to the customers by a growing number of competitive public and private service providers based on a common telecommunication infrastructure will form a crucial task for future management systems. The most important concepts in the context of an open telecommunication environment are the intelligent network architecture, which allows for the flexible and uniform provision of a variety of future telecommunication services, and open management concepts currently developed by ISO and CCITT. Focussing on the management related aspects of an IN-structured telecommunication infrastructure. The author discusses the application of standardized management concepts like CCITT TMN and OSI system management for integrated service and network management and proposes a preliminary management support system for intelligent networks
