Abstract
We present an interpolation-theoretic method to find the family of controllers which place the closed loop poles in some arbitrary region in the complex plane. In previous publications (Kamali and Franklin, 1996, and Kamali, 1996), we solved the above mentioned pole placement problem for a class of systems which we called regular plants. We use several concepts of matrix algebra such as Kronecker product and vec operator to extend the results to general irregular plants
