  • Abstract
Air pollution is serious in coal-based resources city, the development of coal industry led to some PAHs with strong carcinogenicity into the air. In order to study the level of residents´ health exposured to airborne carcinogens, this study chose the city of Shanxi and measured the personal exposure level to BaP in 1992, 1994 and 2002. And a probabilistic incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) model was used to conduct health risk assessment. According to the risk assessment results, the residents´ cancer risk falls within the range from 10-6 to 10-2, which shows that the risk is unacceptable and appeared prior risk. And heating period was significantly higher than non-heating period, that showed the coal production is the major contribution factor to the cancer risk.
