Abstract
The EVENODD code is a kind of code for tolerating double disk failures in a RAID (redundant arrays of independent disks) architecture. Compared with Reed-Solomon (RS) error-correcting codes, it has a simple computational complexity. However, it also has a disadvantage, the small write performance is worse than that of RS codes. An improved scheme of EVENODD code is presented. Compared with EVENODD, the scheme can improve the small write performance without increasing the computational complexity of the code
