Abstract
The possible health effects due to electromagnetic field exposition have become the focus of population concerns in recent years. These concerns resulted in the demand for electromagnetic field control. Electromagnetic field monitoring stations as a key tool in order to control the field strength in commercial frequency bands are being placed on the flat roof of many buildings. However, there is no guidance on where to place them. This paper presents an analysis of frequency and position dependence of flat roof obstacles on plane wave propagation which is a fundamental aspect in the planning of electromagnetic field strength meters location.
