Abstract :
Most digital camera uses the color filter array to reduce the cost and size. When we use the color filter array, however, we need to interpolate the missing color components. In this paper, we propose an advanced directionally weighted demosaicing algorithm for the color filtered images of the single-sensor digital camera. The proposed algorithm estimates the missing pixels by summing weighted color-differences in various directions. Compared to the conventional algorithms, the proposed algorithm achieves better visual quality without visual artifacts, such as aliasing and zippering.
