Abstract
A micro-pore filtering hydrocyclone was developed by combining filtering micro-pore tube with normal liquid-liquid hydrocyclone. Experimental study on oil-water mixture separation performance was carried out by using the new hydrocyclone. Filtering efficiency and underflow efficiency were measured and analyzed. Continuous operation experiments were conducted. It is concluded that PE-5 micro-pore tube is more suitable than PE-8 for this experimental condition, and the filtering efficiency began to decrease after running 75 minutes in continuous operation, and dropped to 85.4% after 180 minutes. This study is helpful for the application hydrocyclones in wider fields.
