Abstract
In installing wireless LAN access systems for indoor use, problems that arise include blind areas and interference between radio waves transmitted by neighboring base stations. To solve these problems, leaky coaxial cables have attracted attention. Commercially available leaky coaxial cables for 2.4 GHz wireless LANs are not long enough for outdoor use. Therefore, We have developed a 300 m leaky coaxial cable for the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE802.11b/g-complied wireless LAN units with high sensitivity for tunnels and underground facilities. We evaluated their performance with three cable configurations and confirmed that this cable provides wireless connections over 300 m.
