Abstract :
Current information service systems are built to serve all users, independent of the special needs of any individual user in different situations. Personalized information service aims at improving the retrieval process by taking into account the particular interests of individual users. However, not all user preferences are relevant in all situations, and they should be understood in context with the user goals and tasks at hand. In this paper, we propose a context-aware personalized information service (CAPIS) approach to adapting information retrieval results according to each userpsilas information needs in different situations for relevant information with little user effort. After the process of CAPIS is analyzed, the service-oriented middleware architecture of CAPIS system is proposed. How to realize personalized semantic matching and personalized information service based on the user context in such an architecture are discussed.
