Abstract :
The new fast Radon transform (NFRT) algorithm proposed by the authors is applied here to reconstruct the X-ray CT image. Satisfactory agreement between the original and reconstructed images was obtained. The algorithm does not require computation intensive data interpolation and convert directly between a raster scan grid and the rectangular/polar grid in one step as compared to the back-projection method. Most importantly the compatibility of this algorithm for the X-ray CT system is also verified here.
