Abstract :
The author establishes a foundation for and recommends the expansion of the teaching of engineering concepts for all students in the schools, grades pre-K through 12. He further recommends that the engineering profession forge an alliance with the school discipline of technology education as the delivering agent for this effort. If this is to become a reality, both the engineering profession and technology education must work collaboratively to develop the intellectual content for this effort along with the quality standards to assure its acceptance and success
