Abstract
The evolution of complex modulation schemes in digital communication applications brings with it the need for powerful digital signal processing (DSP) hardware to cope with the computational requirements. This paper describes the design and development of a multicarrier demodulator using four Texas Instruments TMS320C40 processors. In this application, a commercial DSP board is configured to demodulate a multicarrier FSK signal having eight parallel channels, with a variety of modulation parameters. The goal of the present work was to harness the power of parallel processors with the expectation that more elaborate demodulation schemes could be tackled in the future through the use of enhanced algorithms deployed on each of the DSP modules
