  • Abstract
This paper presents the performance comparison of Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access-Code Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA-CDMA) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing-Code Division Multiple Access (OFDM-CDMA) systems for uplink. We investigate the basic principle and the similarities and differences of these different schemes. According to these schemes, we discuss the performance of SC-FDMA-CDMA and OFDM-CDMA. Moreover, we give the performance of different sub-carrier mapping schemes for SC-FDMA-CDMA, namely Localized Frequency Division Multiple Access (LFDMA), Interleaved Frequency Division Multiple Access (IFDMA) and hybrid subcarrier mapping (LFDMA+IFDMA). Simulation and test results show that SC-FDMA-CDMA performs better than OFDM-CDMA in PAPR for uplink, and its BER performance is close to OFDM-CDMA.
