Abstract
An investigation of target azimuth displacement due to motion compensation of ultra-wide beam VHF SAR data has been performed. The displacement is caused by a height deviation between the target and the assumed reference height. An approximate expression is derived for a line which the motion compensation inflicts on the range trajectory of the target. The azimuth displacement is illustrated for different flight tracks versus range
