Abstract :
In this paper a linear model for SSSC1 in harmonic domain is presented. In this model the harmonic voltages that SSSC injects in to the power system can be calculated. It is assumed that SSSC uses a 6-pulse PWM converter. The third harmonic is assumed to be eliminated by conducting angels of the switching functions equal to 120 degrees. The effect of capacitor size in this model is considered and studied in this paper. Simulation results are used to investigate the effectiveness of the model in harmonic situations.
