Abstract :
This paper is on power scaling of high power optically pumped semiconductor disk laser. It overcomes power limitation (watt level limitation) and offers the unique cw as well as ps-fs pulse operation and beam quality like solid state disk lasers. The OPS-disk laser structure grown by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) on GaAs substrate consists of AlGaAs-Bragg mirror designed for 1000 nm. It is concluded that the scalability of the OPS-disk lasers concept with pump spot diameter produces multi watt output level with brilliant beam quality and high conversion efficiency.
