Abstract
Reconfiguration of flight control systems can be performed by using multiple controllers for anticipated failures. The use of fuzzy logic controllers is studied for a simple implementation of this approach. As a test case, a civil aircraft benchmark problem is considered. The results show that using two pairs of rule bases, the specification for normal conditions as well as in case of an engine failure are fulfilled. Smooth switching between the two control modes is achieved by using membership functions
