Abstract
In this paper, the application of discrete-time variable structure control is demonstrated for the control of switching power converters. A generalised design procedure to derive the control law for a tracking system is devised based on the reaching condition called reaching law approach. The properties of the control law is investigated through design examples. The invariance and the robustness features of the control is demonstrated by simulation results
