Abstract :
Energy exchange control of interacting guided coherent beams in a single-mode planar waveguide with nonlinear coating is analyzed. In the arrangement used the mixed degenerate beams create a real-time grating inside the nonlinear coating medium of the waveguide by evanescent waves transporting into the coating and this grating is responsible for energy exchange. Numerical estimations of energy exchange efficiency show adequate agreement between results for guided and volume geometry. In conclusion, process of two waves mixing in planar geometry with nonlinear coating of the waveguide may be controlled by additional optical beam of another wavelength in the similar way as for conventional volume scheme.
