Abstract
This paper uses Dynamic Shift Share Analysis to analyze the development of high-tech industries in Guangdong during 2001-2009. The results show that the development of high-tech industries was much faster than the development of economy in Guangdong. The development of aerospace industry was the fastest, then the medical equipment and instruments manufacturing industry, the computer and office equipment manufacturing industry followed, but the development of the medical manufacturing industry, the electronic and communication equipment manufacturing industry were relatively slow. The strength of competitiveness and the rationality of the industrial structure were the important reasons for the development speed of the high-tech industries. Be provided with both the industrial structure and competitive advantage, would be more conducive to the rapid development of high-tech industry. The development of regional economy had an important role in promoting the development of the high-tech industry.
