Abstract
In this paper, a new control technique based on the linear peak-current-mode is proposed for power factor correction in AC/DC boost-like power converters in the discontinuous conduction mode at a constant switching frequency. This technique uses a current loop and a slope varying compensating ramp, with input and output feedback signals, to achieve unity power factor even at low output voltages and can be implemented with simple circuit solutions. Experimental results are displayed with the aim of showing the validity of the proposed method
