Abstract
The BMA (Block Matching Algorithm), mainly used for motion compensation in video sequence coding, has disadvantages in handling the motion such as camera zooming or panning, object rotation, and local deformation of object shape. To solve these problems, we propose a new motion compensation method using deformable active-mesh structure, which can estimate and compensate the motion of frames. This active-mesh structure is more effective than block based structure in feature tracking. Because of better feature tracking, the proposed scheme can reduce the “block effect” and can estimate the motion more effectively than BMA does
