The roles of corporate board: A research review

It´s time to focus on the corporate board for those interest in corporate governance in China. That the board play an effective role is crucial to improve corporate governance. This article discusses such issues about the functions of the board as different opinions, different types and patterns of the functions, and different factors which have impact on the functions. Finally the author suggests that, there is a lot research in the current literature on the structure and composition of the board, and the relationship between those and corporate performance, but it is taken as a black box how to interact between those two. The research on the characteristics of the functions and the non-structural factors are still quite weak, especially on the empirical research.
