Abstract :
GaAs based selectively oxidized quantum well vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSEL)s are investigated as light sources for optical interconnection. Bias-free data transmission at 2.5 Gbit/s with a BER of less than 10-11 is reported for transmission over 500 m of graded index multimode fiber
