Abstract :
We propose a novel architecture of a 256×256 optical crossbar switch with optical components reduced to one eighth, large modularity and improved loss budget. We demonstrate its feasibility by a transmission experiment of 10 Gbit/s signals with a sensitivity penalty below 1 dB
