Abstract :
The signal of UHF electromagnetic wave was produced when partial discharges occurred in transformer. Using UHF antenna can capture partial discharges signal and realize on-line detection. In this paper, the basic principle of Hilbert fractal antenna was introduced. At the same time, The constructional parameters influencing the fractal antenna properties were also analyzed emphatically. Though simulation calculation, the optimum parameters of a 3rd order Hilbert fractal antenna which suit to detect partial discharges in transformer are given: length of side L=30mm, order n=3;, line width b=2mm.
