Abstract :
Among many requirement to the next generation cellular networks are availability of services to all subscribed users irrespective of their location as well as controllable (e.g., low) variability of resource allocation. Achieving these tasks is possible by designing a good Radio Resource Management (RRM) mechanism. In this paper we propose a new design of dynamic RRM for OFDMA-based Relay Enhanced Cellular Networks. We study performance of the proposed RRM and demonstrate that it allows controlling variability of resource assignment at the expense of increased convergence time to a steady state. We also show that the proposed RRM can optimize fairness or maximum throughput objectives and demonstrates superior performance in comparison with conventional RRM schemes.
