Abstract :
Texture information can be used to segment images. One method to extract the texture information is to use certain links between the local Fourier transform of the image and fractal dimension information. When working with biological processes, the resulting images might not be truly fractal in which case classical methods might not give very robust estimates. To provide a more robust method for the extraction of the fractal information from certain images an integration is performed in the Fourier domain. The described method is applied to a few example images
