Abstract :
We find that non-soliton RZ pulses in add-drop multiplexing (ADM) networks reduce power penalty due to laser and (de)multiplexer wavelength misalignments to less than 5% compared with NRZ pulses. The limitation to the number of ADM nodes can be more than doubled
