Abstract :
A single-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS) topology suited for powering hybrid fiber-coaxial networks is presented in this paper. The main features of the proposed UPS are: (i) galvanic isolation for the input, battery and output from each other; (ii) zero voltage switching at the high frequency converters under all operating conditions; (iii) high input power factor without dedicated power factor correction stage; (iv) low current ripple in the battery; and (v) high quality output waveform. In the paper, a description and analysis of the UPS is presented and experimental results are given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed UPS
