Abstract
It is shown, that in standard fibre transmissions operating at 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s at high amplifier spacings of 120 km the impact of fibre nonlinearity is diminished by symmetrical ordering of dispersion compensating fibres allowing 1200 km RZ-transmission for 1 dB penalty
