Abstract :
A matching technique that minimizes the coupling between the elements for 2-element symmetrical antenna arrays is presented. The array problem is subdivided into two 1-element antenna equivalents by the help of even and odd mode analysis (EOM) scheme. An interpretation is made for the uniqueness of the EOM mode equivalents for the array system. A novel matching algorithm is then presented. Numerical examples are provided.
