Abstract
An efficient 20 Gbit/s all-optical 4×4 WDM packet switch with four wavelength channels per fibre is experimentally demonstrated. The switch uses high-speed interferometric wavelength converters and semiconductor optical amplifier-gates as key elements and introduces negligible penalty of ~0.2 dB
