Abstract :
Recent years, lack of excellent software engineers has been the bottleneck of China´s software industry development. In contrast, every year a large number of graduates are difficult to find a relevant job. These indicate there is a great gap between our graduates and the requirements of enterprises. In this paper, demand for software engineers is analyzed and the results indicate that the demand shows the complexity and diversity. Then we have proposed the software engineer should be classifieds into analysis-oriented engineers, design-oriented engineers, program-oriented engineers, testing-oriented engineers, service-oriented engineers and management-oriented engineers. Frequently different requirements about knowledge, capacity and characteristics are discussed. And the cultivating objectives, pattern and process of different universities are proposed.
