Abstract
The results of a study of the critical flashover voltage using standard lightning impulse 1.2/50 μs and flashover voltage-time characteristics under steep-front, short-duration pulses applied to distribution line construction are presented. Data were obtained under dry and wet conditions, for positive and negative polarities. The obtained flashover voltages show large differences in electrical strength under the tested voltages
