Abstract :
In this paper, we analyze the multiplexing structure of the STM-1 frame. On this basis, we present the design principle of a SDH digital cross-connect (SDXC) system, which is implemented using field programmable gate arrays (FPGA). The SDXC system enables construction of a flexible SDH network.
