Abstract :
Most configurations of the nitrogen laser suffer from a relatively low energy output and poor stability. A corona plate on top of the laser electrodes improved energy output and the stability to a certain extent. A coaxial Blumlein concept was incorporated in the laser electrodes to minimize the electromagnetic interference associated with the fast transit discharge. Distance between the corona plate and the laser electrodes was optimized to obtain maximum energy from the nitrogen laser.
