  • Abstract
In this paper we present a model which allows the transmission performances of hybrid CATV subcarrier multiplexed (SCM) distribution networks to be evaluated, taking into account both clipping and chirping/dispersion effects. It has been shown that, besides clipping induced systems penalties, chirping poses appreciable limitations on the system performance. Therefore, during the design of a distribution network. both the effects are to be taken into account. The model presented here can be used as a designer tool
