Abstract :
A square metal-plate monopole UWB antenna with band-notched property is proposed. The antenna consists of a square metal plate with two bevel-cuts, an inverted V-shaped slot, and a perfect ground plane, and exhibits low return loss property (|S11|<;-10 dB) within most of the UWB band. A band notched characteristic within 5-6 GHz is noted, this property can be used to avoid EM interference between UWB system and existing wireless systems. The antenna is analyzed by FDTD method, and the results are essentially in agreement with those of experiment. The results show that the antenna can be applied to the UWB systems for its ultrawideband property and simple structure.
