Abstract :
Four distinct high frequency transformer uninterruptible power supplies for powering fiber-coaxial networks topologies are presented and compared in this paper. All the considered UPS topologies have isolation between the input, the output and the battery, therefore, providing safety and flexibility in the selection of the battery voltage and grounding. It has been found that the series-parallel resonant based UPS with capacitive output filter is a strong candidate since it requires just one isolation transformer and it presents high efficiency in both the line operating mode and backup mode
