  • Abstract
Presents the architecture and user interface of a generic framework called CoNus (COoperative Networking for groUpS), supporting collaboration in virtual enterprises. It is intended to provide users with an intuitive interface methodology which is independent from the underlying CSCW components like application sharing, audio/video and file transfer. The user interface relies on a room metaphor with simple drag-and-drop or clicking actions for carrying out functions like conference initiation, invitation, file transfer or application sharing. The architecture provides a replicated data model to give users awareness of any modification in the virtual enterprise. The system supports synchronous, asynchronous and autonomous collaboration. A field study shows the usefulness of the described CSCW framework
