Abstract
The input impedance of the hemispherical cavity-backed slot antenna is studied theoretically and experimentally. The exact Green´s function due to the surface magnetic current in the slot is found. The method of moments is then used to solve for the magnetic current, and hence the input impedance. The rigorous theory is verified by experiment and compared with the single-mode theory available in the literature.
